Our DIY Mini Room Makeover!

Around a year ago, Geof and I were visited by our friends tita Sweety and tita Gen, and to be honest our room wasn’t fit for visitors. It wasn’t even fit for its owners! We had a single flatbed, cardboard boxes everywhere. No organizers, no closets, no tables. Just a bare room with our things inside. Nakakalungkot. Nakakahiya. Kaya din there are no photos.

It was fairly “new” because we just transferred there from our apartment after we decided to move back in with my mom and brother so we’ll have help and company in this pandemic. No regrets. We just needed time (and money) to give our room a mini makeover. As they say, “A clean room does wonder for the psyche”.

Now a room doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to be clean, organized.

 

Our Mini Room Makeover!

Thanks to the universe, Geof and I were blessed with a brand new loft bed and storage rack from MD Gruppe. I also purchased a few nick-nacks from Shopee like a monochromatic bed sheet, grey ottomans, gray laundry bags, and gray rugs. I had to pick the colour gray to neutralize the hash bright orange paint that our room has (no choice, idk who picked it, mom idk)

Now I’m not your typical domesticated mom. I wasn’t used to it because I was working in a corporate job for more than 10 years. So I’m still learning the ropes. A tip I learned from a friend was, try to tidy up slowly. One area at a time. Keep your room mopped from dust, and put the same things together in one area. “Hmm, sounds simple enough that even a 5-year-old can understand”. So that’s what I did

Ta-da! Honestly, I’m happy and satisfied with the result. There’s still much left to be improved, but it was good enough for the budget and blessings I have 🙂
