Why is Using Sunscreen Important?
Wearing sunscreen, also known as sunblock, benefits your health in several ways. By protecting you from harmful radiation from the sun, sunscreen reduces your risk for skin cancer, premature aging and sunburns. You can optimize your protection by choosing the right sunscreen, wearing it regularly and using it as directed.
Prevent Skin Cancer
Sunscreen protects your skin from the sun’s ultraviolet, or UV, rays. Two types of UV rays, known as UVA and UVB, trigger harmful changes in your skin. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, UVA rays account for up to 95 percent of the ultraviolet radiation that reaches the Earth’s surface. Although UVB rays are less prevalent, they also cause skin damage. Both UVA and UVB rays contribute to the development of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.
Prevent Premature Aging
The authors of a June 2013 article published in the “Annals of Internal Medicine” reported on a study comparing recommended daily use of sunscreen versus discretionary use in people younger than 55. At the conclusion of the 4.5-year study, the researchers found 24 percent less skin aging in the group advised to use sunscreen daily compared to the group using sunscreen at their own discretion. Aging was measured by lines and coarseness of the skin. Wearing sunscreen also helps prevent age spots, according to the National Institute on Aging. (source: livestrong.com)
Belo SunExpert Tinted Sunscreen Review
Description
One of the first tinted sunscreens in the country that offers the superior sun protection you need with the perfect skin coverage you desire. Belo SunExpert Tinted Sunscreen is rated SPF50 and PA++++ for broad spectrum protection against harmful UV rays. Its light tint benefits from Tone Adapt Technology that evens out your skin tone and conceals fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. And it has Cell Protect defends against premature skin aging.
Key Ingredients
- Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate – (also called Octyl Methoxycinnamate) is an active ingredient in OTC sunscreen products. It is used in products that are applied to the skin to absorb, reflect or scatter UV rays; it protects the skin from sunburn and other damaging effects of the sun.
- Niacinamide – Also known as Vitamin B3, popular in skincare products to help fade dark spots
- Bee Venom – I was suprised this was in the ingredients list! This is their active ingredient in their Belo Acne Pro Line. The bee venom itself increases blood circulation, gently plumping out and firming the skin, filling and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles,” Hatzistefanis told SheKnows. She added that the venom causes a rush of blood to the area and stimulates the production of natural collagen and elastin.
Belo SunExpert Tinted Sunscreen Review
Whenever someone asks me what sunblock I can recommend for a first timer, I always answer Belo. It’s lightweight, doesn’t clog pores, works instantly and has high amount of SPF protection. I can’t believe that their tinted one has SPF 50 while their regular one only has SPF 40. It’s something I can put on in the morning, do my brows and I’m good to go.
I was surprised that the Medium/Deep shade wasn’t as dark as I expected. It blended with my skin and looked quite natural. Maybe it’s because of the skin adapt technology that they claim? I can use this as my foundation substitute! Since I hate wearing heavy makeup on a daily basis anyway.
It feels like a premium sunscreen. You know? The one that usually costs more than 2,000 pesos because it makes you feel like you’re not wearing anything. Belo Sunexpert Tinted Suscreen feels the same. Parang wala, hindi mabigat sa mukha (not heavy on the face).
I can finish a tube in around 1-2 months with daily use. Will go into the books as one of my favorites. Again.
