beep™ unveils special edition of National Museum cards

AF Payments Inc. (AFPI), the leading provider of contactless payment solutions in the Philippines, unveiled a remarkable collaboration that pays tribute to the nation’s rich history and cultural heritage. The company is proud to introduce the National Museum beep™ cards, marking a significant milestone as AFPI’s first co-branded card with this prestigious institution.

The National Museum beep™ cards feature an exquisite design showcasing four iconic National Museum structures across the country: The The National Museum of Fine Arts, The National Museum of Anthropology, The National Museum of Natural History, and The National Museum of the Philippines – Cebu.

The cards feature exhibits from renowned artists – Lualhati sculpture by National Artist Guillermo Tolentino, the Manunggul Jar, a National Cultural Treasure, Lolong, Guinness World Record for largest salt crocodile in captivity, and the Cebu flowerpecker, a critical endangered species endemic to Cebu Island and once thought to be extinct.

This momentous release aligns with National Cooperative Month and the annual observance of the Museums and Galleries Month, a tradition initiated by the late former President Corazon Aquino by virtue of Proclamation No. 798 signed in 1991, aimed  to raise national consciousness and appreciation  for the country’s rich cultural heritage among the Filipino people.

As we work towards making contactless and micropayments system more accessible to Filipino commuters, we are actively exploring ways to enhance the value of our beep™ cards and advance the digitalization agenda of our nation.

Alvin Anthony Claveria, Chairperson, Board of Directors of the National Museum Employees’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative remarked: “This partnership with AF Payments could not have been timed better, as we remain steadfast in our mission to preserve our history and cultural heritage for future generations. At the same time, we share in the company’s goal of enhancing the commuting experience of Filipinos and fostering a stronger sense of national consciousness.
