Call me blessed or whatever, but I never really had the problems of having dark underarms. Well, except during pregnancy. My secret? I wasn’t a fan of using deodorants, even the “whitening” ones. I wasn’t a sweaty person either – but I still do stink. Just like everyone else.

I wanted a change of pace since I hit the gym a lot and post-workout despite the non-descript “sweat”, my underarms smell bad. I don’t want body odor. That’s why the launch was perfect timing because the product claims to: smoothen and lighten underarms, while preventing odor-causing bacteria. Perfect!

Product Description

Cathy Doll Whitening & Smoothening Mineral Deodorant Stick is made with natural ingredients that offer odor protection and promote skin whitening. Infused with Cherry Blossom Extract, it promotes skin smoothness and supple complexion. This deodorant is non-sticky, non-staining and free from harmful chemicals.

Ingredients: Ammonium Alum, Water, Punica Granatum Peel Extract, Garcinia Mangostana Peel Extract, Prunus Serrulata Flower Extract, Perfume, CI 14720

How to Use

The best way to use this deodorant is after you take a shower/bath. DO NOT towel dry immediately, instead apply the deo stick directly to your armpits while they’re still wet. This will allow smooth glide and application of the product. Just a few swipes to cover your entire underarms. Then leave to dry naturally.

PROS:

Cathy Doll also has a spray variant available, but I prefer this natural stick version for its compact size. And since it’s dry, you can bring it with you on air travels. 

If it’s your first time, using this natural stick deo might feel odd, but it actually applies and feels better than the traditional roll-on. 

This pink version has a mild scent of sakura flowers. Pretty pleasant, but when I sniff my pits afterward, the scent is barely there so it’s perfect talaga kasi I hate it when other products like detergent, fabric softener, and deodorant, overpower the smell of your perfume. 

In terms of odor control, wow ha, applied it during my night shower, the following day my usual of bringing geof to school, working at the cafe, hitting the gym, and commuting at home. I sniff my armpits and nice, hindi amoy putok. 

It’s nice din that my underarms doesn’t feel sticky during the day at all. Smooth! Pero since this is not  an anti-persperant (which can clog your pores), expect the usual amount of sweat. 

Oh, did I mention that while I wasn’t really in it for the “whitening” part, I noticed that my armpits look a couple of shades fairer than usual. Galing! I’ve been using the stick for around 2 months now and it barely made a dent. Cost-effective 😉

CON:

Because it’s a natural stick, expect that over time, there would be “sharp” or “gritty” edges in the product. What you can do is run it over your tap until it turns smooth again. If you hate this kind of hassle, I recommend that you use their spray version instead.
