Honest Reviews of Younique Makeup – Starter Kit, Foundation and Mascara

Younique is an e-commerce MLM (multi-level marketing) Brand that markets beauty products such as Makeup, Skincare, and Fragrances. Their company emerged in 2012 and contested selling products that are mineral-based, high-quality, au natural, and cruelty-free.

Albeit nearly 8 years on the run in the beauty industry, a lot of people are still quite torn and divided on how they perceive their products especially on the nature of their business. Is it based more on consumerism than product development as some people say they are? Too expensive for their quality or quality is too expensive for them? Is it a hit or a miss?

Do their products currently meet the mark in today’s MARKet?

Join me as we peer into the eyes of beauty gurus on what they have to say about this brand.

#1 Are Younique Products GOOD or Overpriced POO? HONEST Review of 15 Products!

Jen Luvs Reviews gives her take in the brand. Let’s start with the ones that are most notable and favorable.

Rose Water Toning Spritz – $29

To her indication, this completely caught her by surprise as to how good it applies and the way the mist of it just covers her face evenly; not splotchy. The scent is fairly decent, if you’re into those floral scents that is, she adds. Ingredients wise, it contains Rose Extract and according to some experts, that it is really good for your skin. It also has Sodium Hyaluronate which is a nice anti-aging ingredient.

Mineral Touch Pressed Powder Foundation – $32

She quite likes this foundation, it almost reminds her of the “TooFaced” Foundation. As she mentioned in the video, she only uses powdered foundation to deepen up the coverage of the existing foundation on her face as most women do nowadays. It really does the job, even if it doesn’t give a full on coverage, but over on another foundation, it applies and blends quite well on the skin.

Moodstruck Precision Brow Liner – $19

Her biggest concern in all brow products is that some apply quite heavily to the point that it looks unreal or too lightly that you have to scrub at your brows just to get some visible coverage. And this brow liner just goes over evenly and quite well with giving a brow a natural finish.

Moodstruck Precision Pencil Lip Liner – $15

The Lip Liner is quite creamy and goes on very well. She has tried it over multiple lipsticks and it does the job of keeping the lipstick in place and not bleed out everywhere. It was a definite win.

Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Palette – $49

Addicting? Well this has certainly made our vlogger raise her eyebrows. With a whopping amount of $49 for a non-pigmented, 7 shade only, overpriced palette? With the quality compared to the price point, it’s just not “it” honey. Enough said.

Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes (Fiber Mascara) – $29

It’s just over complicated and tricky to work with. Especially the sheer anxiety of worrying of getting fibres in your eye upon using this. But in Jen’s case, she personally likes it and never had a problem in applying it, though one thing is for sure, it is definitely not for everyone.

Moodstruck Minerals Stiff Upper Lip Lip Stain – $22

Dry patches are quite common when it comes to lip stains. And as she mentioned in the video, if you have perfectly beautiful moist lips, this would not be a problem at all. It would not just go the same for the people who usually do get cracks on their lips and she feels like the product would only accentuate those dry patches even more.

Alright, the verdict? Not overpriced crap, but MOST DEFINITELY overpriced.

All of which aside from the good ones, based on the quality of some of the products, she doesn’t think that most of them meet the price point but definitely not poo.

#2 MY EYES HATE ME… WORST MAKEUP PRODUCT I’VE EVER TRIED

Let’s be honest, when it comes to full-fledged no filter reviews in the beauty world, we always have Jeffree Star to set the facts straight. Most precisely this makeup review video he published of the DDK 4D Fiber Silk Mascara. He says for $15 the price wasn’t that bad nor too expensive but the overall process of applying was too much of a process to do with bare minimum results. He said his lashes felt like tarantula hair. They felt hard like cement but at the same time velvety. At the end of the video, his eyelashes literally looked like a mess. Aside from that, fibres went inside his eyes which made them irritated.

Honestly, if you’re someone who has the time and patience to do all of these steps as accurately as you can, then good on you but if you’re considering to buy every day, on the go mascara then this product might not fair as well for you as it didn’t on Jeffree’s. It was definitely not Jeffree Star Approved.

#3 HONEST REVIEW OF YOUNIQUE MAKEUP- IS IT WORTH IT?? HITS AND MISSES

If there are only three products she can salvage from this make-up review, here’s what hits the mark.

Moodstruck Brow Obsession Palette – $29

She’s completely over the moon with this palette, she probably thinks it must’ve been how the shade suits her complexion very well, but of course she cannot speak for everyone regarding this. She points out, “The wax is just creamy and not hard to work with like most brow palettes are.”

Younique Beachfront Bronzer – $32

Definitely included in her faves. She indicates how the color definitely gives a sense of warmth and brightness to the skin and she couldn’t get enough of how pretty the shade is. It was to her dismay that she found out they were discontinuing this product though.

Younique BB Flawless – $39

Absolutely flawless and it blends well. She doesn’t find anything wrong with it at all and it gives good coverage too!

Those were the three products she definitely, hands down, is obsessed with. But about the others, she says she could take some of it or leave it. And there are absolutely some things she could definitely not take and just leave are the following:

Younique Touch Glorious Face Primer -$34

This product definitely didn’t suit her liking, she finds it not blending well, especially with concealer. According to her it’s just not a blendable and easy product.

Younique Touch a la mode Pressed Powder Luminizer – $32

She really doesn’t like it at all. She feels like it just doesn’t do anything so she’s really not a fan.

Younique Moodstruck Epic 4D one-step Fiber Mascara – $15

She’s not as impressed as she was expecting to be. She was hoping that it would be something different than your typical everyday mascara but she finds it not that at all different from a regular one.

#4 YOUNIQUE TOUCH MINERAL LIQUID Foundation (Review & Demo) 15 Days of Foundation

Taylor Wynn dives into the much-hyped and talked about the foundation of Younique’s brand which is the Younique Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation. Retailing for $39 with 0.68 fluid ounces of the product? Definitely pricey. It’s a lesser product you get from a usual bottle of foundation which is actually 1 fluid ounce. She is quite impressed by the transparency the brand has with the formula of their foundation and she thought it was really cool. Upon application using a morphe brush, she noted that the foundation gave her a sort’ of oily finish. Even after 10 minutes, it still was oily in some places. She doesn’t exactly hate it, but she isn’t at all into it either.

A couple of hours after application, she indicated that it looks a lot better than when she first applied it. It does look certainly heavy in some areas, especially around her nose but nothing at all horrible.

After 11 hours of putting foundation, her face looked really greasy. The foundation doesn’t give full coverage so she had to put at least 20 drops on her face. She says that perhaps this type of foundation would be better suited for women with dryer skin that would fare pretty well with light coverage. But for the price compared to the actual quality of the foundation, it just doesn’t meet the market.

#5 Brutally Honest Younique Starter Kit Review

Beauty Guru, Melissa Freeman gives her take on the Younique Starter Kit. She begins with the Bag. She actually loves the look of the bag, it has a holographic purple color with leather handle and straps. It also has a lot of pockets so she found it really useful but it’s not something she would carry around on a daily basis and opts to use it for vacations and travel.

Samples:

First, she talks about the samples that come with the kit. It contains pamphlets of their array of products and coupons. Samples of their detoxifying, oil control and exfoliating mask. It also contains samples of their mineral foundation across different shades, and samples of their 3 different fragrances.

Younique Royalty Exfoliating Mask -$49

First impression, the packaging looks nice. But the smell was a bit not quite her cup of tea. She found it similar to the smell of windex, which is not a nice smell for something you put on your face, but hey at least you smell clean. The texture is quite nice, you don’t feel the microbeads in the cream.

Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes -$29

She noted how she was hesitant and scared to try it due to the “hairy fibres”, but the packaging comes with a full set of instructions on how to apply it.

Moodstruck Epic Mascara -$24

Now this, she has tried and she says it was no different from any other normal mascara. It wasn’t anything special either and not something she would recommend others to buy.

Splurge Cream Shadow – $26

She finds the quality and packaging of this product good, in terms of how it also applies to the crease of the eye, the glitter is also a huge bonus as well.

Moodstruck Pressed Shadow SIngle Compact – $18

She definitely recommends to put a primer on first before applying any of these shadows but the shades are pretty. It comes with a mini box wear you can insert each of your shadows in. The best part about the box is that there’s a sticker of each shade so that you can easily put it on the back of the mini box of your single shadow so that you can be aware of the shade and names of each shadow and according to her, they were very pigmented but they don’t last at all throughout the day.

Moodstruck Precision Pencil Eye Liner -$15

The eyeliner is pretty jet black and she actually quite likes it.

Lucrative Moodstruck Minerals Lip Gloss -$15

She likes this lip gloss. It wasn’t too sticky and gives your lips just a tinge amount of color in there that she finds it favorable to use. The packaging of the gloss also has a mirror on the back which is pretty useful and unique.

Moodstruck Splash Liquid Lipstick -$27

She finds the packaging pretty and the texture of the lipstick is very “moussy” and doesn’t feel like a normal lipstick. The color doesn’t last at all on your lips. She even said it wears in literally minutes after putting it on. I mean you wouldn’t even think twice about spending $27 dollars on lipstick that can be instantly gone within minutes of putting it on, would you?
